Why Am I Here?

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10

Have you ever stood in front of a mirror and asked yourself, “Why am I here?” It’s one of humanity’s most fundamental questions, and thankfully, God’s Word provides us with a clear and profound answer.

In Ephesians 2:10, we discover three powerful truths about our existence:

First, we are God’s handiwork. The Greek word used here is “poiema,” from which we get our word “poem.” You are not an accident or a cosmic coincidence – you are God’s masterpiece, carefully and lovingly crafted by the Creator of the universe.

Second, we are created in Christ Jesus. Our identity is fundamentally linked to Christ. Through Him, we are made new creatures with purpose and direction. This relationship with Jesus transforms not just who we are, but why we exist.

Third, we are created for good works that God prepared in advance. Think about that for a moment – before you took your first breath, God already had plans for your life. He has specifically designed you with gifts, talents, and experiences that align with His purposes.

But here’s the challenging question: Are you living in alignment with God’s prepared purpose for your life? Many of us find ourselves at a crossroads, feeling successful in some areas but still sensing there must be more to life than our current experience.

This is where many of us find ourselves in what we might call our “halftime” – that crucial moment when we pause to evaluate our lives and seek God’s deeper purpose.

If you’re wrestling with questions about your purpose and seeking to understand God’s unique calling for your life, I want to invite you to join our upcoming 6-week Halftime study.

This transformative journey will help you:
Discover your God-given purpose
Identify your unique gifts and talents
Create a practical plan to live out your calling
Connect with others on a similar journey

The Halftime study begins on the FIRST WEEK of FEBRUARY 2025. This could be your moment to move from success to significance, from achievement to purpose, from asking “Why am I here?” to confidently living out God’s answer to that question.

Please invite anyone you believe could benefit from this study.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for creating us with purpose. Help us to understand and embrace the good works you’ve prepared for us to do. Give us the courage to step into the plans you have for our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
