Soul Implosion

Most of us are familiar with explosions, but we rarely hear about implosions. In an explosion, the force radiates outward from the object — like a bomb blowing up a room. In an implosion, the force from the outside collapses the object upon itself. I see suicide as SOUL IMPLOSION.

Pressure at high altitude and at the bottom of the ocean is very different. The higher you go, the outside pressure is lower than the pressure inside — so we need materials that can stretch out well. This is why airplanes use aluminium and, more recently, carbon fiber.

This is why we have been taught to develop good character — because character helps us to stretch out, it helps us gain trust and reach more people.

But at the bottom of the ocean, the outside pressure is far higher than the inside. We need different material that can withstand that incoming pressure — usually a unified material like steel or titanium, preferably not in a mix, because different materials have different fatigue points and make it harder to check for structural integrity.

Although the causes of the Titan submarine accident were still being investigated, the Titan was made using carbon fiber and titanium. This made it difficult to check its structural integrity after each dive. As we now know, it imploded.

While we are at the bottom, we need a unified material. When the external pressure of life bears down on us, only a heart fully surrendered to God — unified, not mixed — can withstand the weight.
